CPR and first aid training for Padstow
Padstow combines a busy suburban centre around the station and Padstow Parade with one of the larger light-industrial pockets in the Canterbury-Bankstown area – engineering, fabrication, storage, food production, motor trades and transport operating out of the estates north and east of the shops. It also has a strong club and community sector, several schools, and the childcare and aged care services that come with an established residential population.
CPR Plus First Aid runs nationally recognised CPR, first aid and education and care first aid courses for all of it. Scheduled courses are held at our training room at 18 Station Street, Kogarah, about fifteen minutes away, and for workplaces and groups a trainer comes to your site with manikins, training defibrillators and consumables. Every session is hands-on rather than theoretical – you practise compressions and rescue breaths on adult and infant manikins, use a training defibrillator, and work through realistic scenarios.

Getting to us from Padstow
The training room is at 18 Station Street, Kogarah – roughly 15 minutes from Padstow. The usual drive is Davies Road or Padstow Parade across to King Georges Road, then south to the Princes Highway and into Kogarah, with a right into Station Street.
By train Padstow sits on the T8 Airport and South line while Kogarah is on the T4 Illawarra line, so the trip means one change at Wolli Creek. That still comes in comfortably under half an hour, and Station Street is a two-minute walk from Kogarah station. If you drive, there is street parking on Station Street and in the surrounding blocks plus the public car parks in Kogarah town centre – the area is busy from early because of St George Hospital traffic, so allow ten minutes more than the map estimate.

Eye injuries: the Padstow workshop incident nobody prepares for
On a fabrication or motor trade site the injury most likely to be handled badly is an eye injury, because the instinct is exactly wrong. For a chemical splash the response is immediate, prolonged flushing with clean water – at least twenty minutes, tilting the head so the contaminated water runs away from the unaffected eye rather than across it. For a foreign body embedded in the eye, or a penetrating injury, the response is the opposite: do not rinse, do not remove it, do not let the casualty rub the eye. Cover both eyes to stop the injured one tracking with the good one, and get them to hospital.
The practical implication for a Padstow workshop is worth checking today rather than after an incident: an eyewash station or a sealed bottle of sterile saline needs to be somewhere reachable in seconds, not in a locked cupboard across the yard, and everyone on the floor needs to know which response goes with which injury.
