Finding us from Maroubra
Our training room is at 18 Station Street, Kogarah NSW 2217 – about 21 minutes and 11.2 km from Maroubra via Anzac Parade, Southern Cross Drive and the Princes Highway. Maroubra has no railway station, so unlike most of our routes this is one where driving is genuinely the practical option rather than simply the faster one.
Below is the drive, the public transport alternative, the parking and what to have with you. For course content and local detail, see the CPR course in Maroubra page.
Driving from Maroubra – about 21 minutes (11.2 km)
- From Maroubra, head north on Anzac Parade towards Kensington.
- Turn onto Southern Cross Drive heading south-west towards the airport.
- Continue past the airport and join the Princes Highway heading south.
- Follow the Princes Highway through Arncliffe, Banksia and Rockdale into Kogarah.
- Turn into Station Street beside Kogarah railway station. Number 18 is a short way along.
Treat the figures above as a guide. Real journey times from Maroubra vary with the peak, roadworks and school terms, so look at live conditions before you leave.
Parking near 18 Station Street
Street parking on and around Station Street is time-limited, with town centre car parks as the fallback. Coming from Maroubra, budget ten extra minutes: hospital traffic on Gray Street and the Princes Highway makes the closest spaces scarce early.
Coming by train or bus
Maroubra has no station, so public transport means a bus and then a train. The usual options are a bus west towards Rockdale to pick up the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line, or a bus into the rail network and a change. Either way, allow considerably longer than the drive and check the Transport for NSW trip planner for current connections.
The route also crosses the airport approaches, which is the main variable on the drive – afternoon peak and school holidays can stretch it well past the average. If you are organising training for a team in the Eastern Suburbs, onsite delivery at your own premises usually works out better than everyone making this trip.
What to bring on the day
- Photo identification
- Your USI. No Unique Student Identifier means no statement of attainment, so create one free before travelling in from undefined
- Something you can move and kneel in for the hands-on assessment
- Pre-course work if your enrolment included it, and your previous certificate for a refresher
Arriving from Maroubra
Without a station, Maroubra participants are almost all driving, and the route crosses the airport approaches where the afternoon peak bites hardest. Anzac Parade northbound in the morning is the other constraint. If your session finishes late in the day, expect the return leg to take longer than the trip in. For a group, onsite delivery is usually the better answer.
Book a course before you travel
Secure the date first. Because numbers are deliberately limited, sessions fill quickly – the course pages carry live dates and fees ($50.00, $100.00 and $110.00 for HLTAID009, HLTAID011 and HLTAID012). Groups from Maroubra often prefer a trainer to attend their own site.

Is there a train from Maroubra?
No. Maroubra has no railway station. Public transport means a bus to Rockdale or into the rail network, then a train to Kogarah, and it takes noticeably longer than driving.
Can you come to us instead?
Yes. For a group in Maroubra or the surrounding Eastern Suburbs, a trainer can attend your site with manikins, training defibrillators and consumables. Send your numbers and dates through the enquiry form at the top of this page.
Where do I park at Kogarah?
Time-limited street parking on Station Street and the surrounding blocks, plus the public car parks in Kogarah town centre. Check the signage for current limits and fees, and allow ten minutes extra.
Practise it before you need it
Book a session, work on the manikins, ask the awkward questions. That is the whole point of doing this in Maroubra rather than reading a leaflet.
