How to Get to Our Kogarah Training Centre from Mascot

Finding us from Mascot

Our training room is at 18 Station Street, Kogarah NSW 2217 – about 13 minutes and 7.6 km from Mascot, around the southern side of the airport via General Holmes Drive. The drive is short but it crosses the airport approaches, so the time of day matters more here than on most of our routes.

Driving from Mascot – about 13 minutes (7.6 km)

1. From Mascot, head south towards the airport and join General Holmes Drive.
2. Follow General Holmes Drive around the southern side of the airport.
3. Continue onto Marsh Street and then the Princes Highway heading south towards Rockdale.
4. Stay on the Princes Highway through Arncliffe, Banksia and Rockdale into Kogarah.
5. Turn into Station Street beside Kogarah railway station. Number 18 is a short way along.

Drive times and distances on this page are approximate and depend heavily on when you travel. Check the route on the day rather than relying on an average, particularly for a morning start.

Parking near 18 Station Street

Station Street parking is on-street and time-limited, with more bays behind it and the Kogarah town centre car parks a short walk away. Read the sign before you leave the car – a two-hour bay will not survive a full-day course.

Coming by train or bus

Mascot station is on the T8 Airport and South line and Kogarah is on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line, so the trip involves one change at Wolli Creek – then four stops through Arncliffe, Banksia and Rockdale to Kogarah. Wolli Creek is a same-station interchange, so the change itself is quick.

Note that the T8 stations between Mascot and Wolli Creek include the airport stations, which carry a station access fee. Travelling from Mascot itself to Wolli Creek avoids that, but it is worth checking your fare before you travel. From Kogarah station it is a two to three minute walk from the Station Street exit to number 18.

What to bring on the day

• A licence or passport for identification
• A USI (Unique Student Identifier) – a legal requirement for accredited training, so set one up online in advance
• Comfortable clothes for floor-based practical work
• Completed pre-course learning, and your current statement of attainment if renewing

Arriving from Mascot

This is the one route where the variable is the airport rather than the suburb. General Holmes Drive and Marsh Street carry airport and Port Botany traffic, and school holidays change the picture completely. Mascot is also the only origin on our list where a station access fee can apply if you board at one of the airport stations rather than Mascot itself, so check your fare as well as your route.
