Finding us from Cronulla

Our training room is at 18 Station Street, Kogarah NSW 2217 – about 22 minutes and 15.6 km from Cronulla, out along The Kingsway and then north on the Princes Highway. It is the longest Shire route we publish, and Cronulla is also the one place where the train is almost always the better decision.

Driving from Cronulla – about 22 minutes (15.6 km)

1. From Cronulla, head west on The Kingsway towards Caringbah.
2. Continue through Caringbah and Miranda on The Kingsway.
3. Join the Princes Highway and turn north towards Sydney.
4. Cross Tom Uglys Bridge and continue through Blakehurst and Carlton into Kogarah.
5. Turn into Station Street beside Kogarah railway station. Number 18 is a short way along.

Drive times and distances on this page are approximate and depend heavily on when you travel. Check the route on the day rather than relying on an average, particularly for a morning start.

Parking near 18 Station Street

There is time-limited street parking outside and nearby, and the Kogarah town centre car parks are close. Because St George Hospital fills the area from early, the nearest bays go first – add ten minutes to your drive from Cronulla.

Accessible parking and a drop-off point are available close to the entrance. If a participant needs either, tell us when you book rather than on the morning and we will make sure it is clear.

Coming by train or bus

Cronulla station is the terminus of the T4 Cronulla branch and Kogarah is on the same line, so it is one train the whole way with no changes – through Woolooware, Caringbah, Miranda, Gymea, Kirrawee and Sutherland before continuing north. From Kogarah station it is a two to three minute walk from the Station Street exit.

Because the drive is long and both The Kingsway and the Tom Uglys Bridge approach slow in peak, the train is the clear recommendation from Cronulla. It is also the more reliable option on a summer weekend, when beach traffic makes the road time unpredictable.

• A USI (Unique Student Identifier) – a legal requirement for accredited training, so set one up online in advance
• Comfortable clothes for floor-based practical work
• Completed pre-course learning, and your current statement of attainment if renewing

Arriving from Cronulla

Cronulla is the one origin where we would actively steer you onto the train. The drive crosses The Kingsway and the bridge, both of which back up, and in summer the beach traffic makes the road time genuinely unpredictable. From the end of the line it is a single service, no changes, and you can use the trip to get through any pre-course reading.
