Finding us from Rockdale

Our training room is at 18 Station Street, Kogarah NSW 2217 – about 6 minutes and 2.4 km from Rockdale by car, and exactly one stop on the train. Of everywhere we run directions for, Rockdale is the shortest trip on the rail line: you board at Rockdale, get off at Kogarah, and walk two to three minutes.

Driving from Rockdale – about 6 minutes (2.4 km)

1. From Rockdale town centre, join the Princes Highway heading south-west.
2. Continue past Bay Street and the Rockdale shops, staying on the Highway.
3. After roughly two kilometres you reach Kogarah, with the railway station on your left.
4. Turn into Station Street beside Kogarah railway station.
5. Number 18 is a short way along. Street parking is here, or continue to the Kogarah town centre car parks.

Drive times and distances on this page are approximate and depend heavily on when you travel. Check the route on the day rather than relying on an average, particularly for a morning start.

Parking near 18 Station Street

On-street parking runs along Station Street and the adjoining blocks, with town centre car parks two minutes on foot. Check the signage: limits are not uniform and enforcement here is active.

Accessible parking and a drop-off point are available close to the entrance. If a participant needs either, tell us when you book rather than on the morning and we will make sure it is clear.

Coming by train or bus

Rockdale and Kogarah are adjacent stations on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line – a single stop, no changes, a few minutes of travel. It is difficult to beat, and it removes the parking question entirely.

From Kogarah station, leave on the Station Street side and walk two to three minutes to number 18. Buses also run between Rockdale and Kogarah along the Princes Highway. If you are coming from the Brighton-Le-Sands or Bay Street side of Rockdale, driving may be marginally quicker than doubling back to the station.

What to bring on the day

• A licence or passport for identification
• A USI (Unique Student Identifier) – a legal requirement for accredited training, so set one up online in advance
• Comfortable clothes for floor-based practical work
• Completed pre-course learning, and your current statement of attainment if renewing

Arriving from Rockdale

Rockdale is close enough that people routinely underestimate the trip and arrive late anyway, usually because the Princes Highway between the Rockdale shops and Kogarah moves slowly in the morning. The single stop by rail sidesteps that entirely and takes a few minutes. If you are walking up from the Bay Street end, allow around half an hour on foot.
