Practical CPR and first aid training for Caringbah

Getting to us from Caringbah
The training room is at 18 Station Street, Kogarah, roughly 15 minutes from Caringbah by car. The straightforward run is the Kingsway to the Princes Highway, then north over Tom Uglys Bridge and into Kogarah. Traffic on the Kingsway and at the bridge is the main variable, so allow more time for a morning start than the map suggests.
Caringbah station is on the T4 Cronulla branch and Kogarah is on the same line, so the train needs no changes – you board at Caringbah, get off at Kogarah and walk a couple of minutes to Station Street. For a full-day first aid course that is usually the better call. If you drive, there is street parking on Station Street and the surrounding blocks plus public car parks in Kogarah town centre, but the area is busy from early because of St George Hospital traffic, so build in a ten-minute buffer.

If you already work in healthcare, read this before you book
Clinical staff are the group most likely to assume their workplace competency covers them and then discover it does not. A hospital or practice in-service session on resuscitation is valuable, but it is not the same thing as a nationally recognised statement of attainment for HLTAID009. If a registration body, an insurer, an employer’s credentialing process or a locum agency asks for evidence of current CPR, they are usually asking for the accredited unit – and an internal training record will not satisfy it.
The second thing worth checking is which unit is actually being requested. Many Caringbah clinical roles specify HLTAID009 Provide CPR annually. Practice managers, reception staff and anyone likely to be first to a collapse in a waiting room are often better served by HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, which adds bleeding control, burns, fractures, asthma and anaphylaxis to the same CPR content.
